When a curse afflicts Alazné, Olivia must find a way to stop it. As she searches for answers, more problems surface and she finds herself uncovering secrets kept hidden away from the world—secrets meant to come out by nature but were concealed by man. Now, Olivia must figure out how to save her sister, her people and the dimensions intertwined with her fate.

Want something scent-sational? ;)

As fall approaches, a delicious array of tastes and smells comes along with it. At the beginning of my book The Angelnots, we get a sneak peak of what the hometown of the Angelnots smells like:

If you want your home to smell like Bizi-Herri this autumn, try out this fun DIY home fragrance of apples and spices (much of which is courtesy of Southern Living’s article “5 Ways With Mulling Spices”)!

Step 1: Make two spice bags
Making a spice bag is fun and simple. First, get together the ingredients you’d like to use; in this case, we will use the following (per bag): 2 cinnamon sticks, 6 cloves, 6 allspice and 4 dried apple slices. Then, wrap in cheesecloth and pinch shut with kitchen string.

Step 2: Boil water on the stove (with the spice bags)
Place both bags of spices into a pot filled with 8 cups of water. Bring the water to a boil.

Step 3: Reduce to a simmer
Leave your spice bags in the simmering water for 3-4 hours and enjoy the spiced autumn fragrance of Bizi-Herri that lingers in your home afterwards.
