[Interview + GIVEAWAY] With Samaire Provost the author of the Mad World: Sanctuary

**Don't forget to enter to WIN 1 of 2 $25 Amazon Gift Cards at the bottom.**

Today I have the privilege of welcoming Samaire Provost author of the Mad World Book Series.  Hope she feels at home.

Samaire please tell us a little about yourself before we get started.
I live in California with my husband and son. My love of paranormal stories, odd plots, and unique tales as well as the works of Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett, Susan Cooper, Madeleine L'Engle and Stephen King has deeply influenced my writing.

What is one book everyone should read?

“On Writing” by Stephen King (non-fiction) An excellent resource and teaching guide to writing.

If you could have any superpower what would you choose?

I would choose to fly.  I think it would be incredible!  Exhilarating!   Fantastic!

If you could meet one person who has died who would you choose?

William Shakespeare.  I’d love to spend a day with him, walking in the woods and meadows and discussing everything from art and philosophy to writing and life’s lessons.

Please tell us in one sentence only, why we should read your book.

It is an incredible, exciting, fast-paced adventure that will leave you breathless and exhilarated!

Tell us your most rewarding experience since being published

Being appreciated for my imagination, day dreaming, and doing what I love best: writing.  Reading all the wonderful words from readers.   Finding out that they love my stories.  That is the best!

What was your favorite book when you were a child/teen?

I fell in love with reading when I was very young.  I will have to say, my favorite was “A Wrinkle In Time” by Madeleine L’Engle, followed very closely by “The Dark Is Rising” by Susan Cooper.

If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?

In a forest on the outskirts of a city filled with museums and theaters.

How did you know you should become an author?

I loved to write, I loved to read, and I was absolutely miserable in my job as an Insurance Claims Adjuster.  I dreamed about making a living as an author.  I knew I had to do it, I was dying inside, I had to go for my dreams or I knew I would be miserable for the rest of my life.  So I went for it!  I was lucky enough to have a husband who fully supports and believes in my dream.

 Favorite Food?

It’s a tie!    Japanese Teppanyaki and Authentic Puerto Rican food J

What was your favorite children's book?

“The Black Stallion” by Walter Farley.  When I was 10 that book was gold!

Can you share a little about the current title you are working on?

Sure! I am currently writing Mad World: DESPERATION, the third and final book in the series.  It’s, once again, a “journey” book, in every sense.  The adventure takes place on a journey, and the characters learn and grow during that journey.  I think readers will be surprised, it will not be exactly what they expect J

Thanks so much Samaire for visiting with us today. This series sounds great. I'm adding them to my TBR list.

The year is 2017, and the Black Plague infection has swept across most of the United States, leaving death and chaos in its wake. Martial law is the rule rather than the exception, with outbreaks cropping up when they're least expected. Alyssa and her friends must not only battle outbreaks of the disease, but also find themselves pursued by government agents – men and women determined to track them down at any cost.

Fleeing north to the fabled Sanctuary, Alyssa, Jacob, DeAndre, Caitlyn, Risa and Luke face disturbing ordeals and terrible tragedy as they encounter unbelievable situations in their struggle to reach safety. Using their skills and wits in their fight to survive against ever worsening odds, they weather hardship, betrayal, and the ever-present specter of death as they flee north, all the while vowing to protect one another – and most of all their precious 5-year-old Luke, from a world gone mad.

Sanctuary, the second installment in the Mad World series, is a heart-rending adventure of astonishing revelations, tragic discoveries, agonizing separations and devastating losses that test these friends to their limits. With heart-pounding, edge-of-your-seat suspense at every turn, this is a story you will not be able to put down.
